Scope:

All civil works associated new wet well and screening structure

• Install secant piles for structures
• Excavate 9m deep inside pile wall
• Manage water in highly charged ground conditions
• FRP wet well & screenings structure
• Cast pre-cast roofs up to 30t and place.
• Reinstate

Challenges:

• Working inside an operating pump station
• Water table was 2m below surface.
• The screenings structure was built over a live DN1500 incoming line, which had to be protected at all times.
• Through using vacume spears and sump pumps, we had to keep the excavations de-watered at all times
• The ground water was PASS – Acidic – so had to be treated and neutralized.
• We had to remove 1200t of ACM spoil from the excavations.
• The overflow pipe & headwall were going into a natural waterway so had to work in very strict EPA guidelines.
